How to Adopt
Please read through the adoption guidelines below. If you are looking for information on how my own rats are kept please refer to the Rattery page. When you are ready to contact me about adoption please fill out and email the adoption application to rprattery@hotmail.com .
Adoption Policies
GENERAL:
-I will not breed a litter unless I have a waiting list of adopters lined up.
-Although genetics can help predict what a pair of rats may produce, I cannot guarantee a certain sex, color, marking, ear or coat type(in some instances) will be born in any litter. Potential adopters are welcome to give an idea of their ideal rat pup(s), but this doesn't mean I can produce that exact rat.
-No single rats will be sold unless you already have rats of the same gender as the one being adopted(or spayed/neutered opposite sex rats) already at home waiting for a cage mate.
-Adopters must be at least 18 years of age or have a parent/guardian to sign for the rats.
-I will take back any rat I have bred at any time during it's life if the adopter can no longer care for it.
-Rats will be available to go to new homes at 6 weeks of age.
ADOPTION & BREEDING CONTRACTS:
All rats are sold as pet-only unless breeding rights are discussed before adoption.Breeding contracts are only given out to those who are dedicated to improving the pet rat and share similar interests/goals as RP.If you are given permission to breed the rat(s) you must sign a pet contract and a breeding contract.
PRICES:
Pricing for rat adoption will be as follows:
One(1) rat, any color, ear type or gender $15
PAIR(2) of same sex rats, any color, ear type or gender $25
